My guess is that the bot plays relative to the level of its opponent. Based on the moves they play and not necessarily their chess.com Elo. That’s based on the fact that low elo accounts are beating it, apparently somebody has a game where it played at a 1450 rating, and context like the fact it’s ?? rated instead of a fixed rating

It's not mittens, I think it adapts on who it is playing against or how you play unless it can get a quick checkmate. A while back chess.com leaked mittens and m3gans elo in which I don't believe questionmaster is higher rated
