Start playing slower time controls. Blitz and bullet will plateau as you don't have time for looking at alternatives, so you don't improve.

I really can't afford chess coaching like they have in the richer schools and I'm trying to get better. Im currently 1600 in blitz and I've been floating around that for a while now. I practice a lot, just can't seem to get anywhere. I was wondering if anybody had any tips so that i could definitely get that 1 step better.
