I'm curious-- some sort of least squares fit. I suspect it's not useful information -- but I'm still curious.

I think it’s calculated by what people from those ratings would play. Like if most of your moves you played was a move that is one of the top engine moves then your rating would be very high

No information is available about that but it uses the player's ratings and associated accuracies
