Absolutely

well, how so ?

I find parallels because I do things I don’t want to do on the board and in life, and each subsequent decision has equal or greater consequence. Dont want to blunder my queen away either for a lousy trade with a pawn, even though the pawn may be tempting, and looks better after a few drinks.

well, i was thinking more in terms of interpersonal communication...

I use it in my classroom to talk to my kids about taking in all the information, quickly focusing in on what is important, anticipating what comes next, identifying the best of multiple good options, and so on.  Sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't.

Chess has taught me to always sacrifice people in order to further my goal of global domination.

i think one thing that is not the same, in life and in chess, is that in life you don't try to checkmate people...maybe you're trying to get to a goal...rather like, getting your message across...or maybe teach a lesson...

would you say this is accurate ?

My goal of achieving global domination is not going as planned. Perhaps I’ve made some unsound sacrifices, but to be fair they deserved it.

Letting people know of your plans doesn’t help.

The following descriptions could be about life or chess: It can be well planned, but sometimes there are challenges thrown at you, which are hard to recover from. Often, mistakes happen because you were hasty, greedy, and were not paying attention to what is important. Every action has a consequence and the highest chance of winning, is when you are in a state of zen.
