How long did you stay below 1000 rating and how did you get out of it?

How many matches did you do a day in the month that you transcended to staying above 1000 rating in blitz/normal/etc/etc?

Cheske

Well?

I don't know, chess.com wasn't around when I started.  When I became really interested in chess though I played a few games a day, every day, and solved tactical puzzles a few times a week.  On average it was probably 1 or two days a month I didn't play during that first year.  It was sometime during that year I wasn't 1000 anymore.

It was probably a couple weeks or so of playing against Shredder that I got above 1000 and so far I've managed to stay above it (not in blitz though).

Couple of months i think.

One can get pretty quickly above 1000 after learning the basic tactical principles (pins, skewers, forks etc) and then practicing tactics for example at chesstempo.com.
