How long do your "online" chess games last for?

I guess most people play 3 days per move, right? Of course, many people get to play 1 or more moves a day. I try to do 1-2 moves a day. Meaning my games last for 2-4 weeks.Does this make me a slow player?

How about you? How long do your games last on the average? And how many do you play at one time? I don't think I should do more than 5. But I know of people who do more than 50!

Usually I start  bunch somewhere between 30-50 and let them run down to about 10.

As for moves i basically just check the board out for afew seconds and make the move, though i play mostly unrated so they dont realy matter.

I have chess com open wheneer im on the net, so the length depends on my opponent, usually a few days.

Can somone have another 3 days when his time is nearly run out?

The 3-days is the time limit to make a move after your opponent moves.  So you may make any number of moves in any amount of time less than 3 days.  If your opponent has made a move, then you have up to (but not more than) 3 days to respond to the last opponent move or you forfeit.  I prefer the 3-day games as they do not usually wait 3 days between moves, but it does allow you to leave for a weekend.

My games really last for 4 weeks, sometimes shorter. I enjoy 5 day games, but I never take the full five days for my moves. Otherwise those games would last for a year!

1 day

I have 15 games going right now, and my average time per move is 6 hours. I have finished something like 90 games, I think. I play anything from 2 days on up to 14, but obviously I move pretty quickly. I used to keep about 6 games going, but I rarely had enough moves to make to keep it interesting. So, I added until I got it right. Being in a group, I get asked to join team games a lot, so that's why I started adding more originally. One guy in our group is down to 70 ish games, down from 700 at a time. I have no idea how he ever had time to do that. lol

I try to do a move a day but sometimes I just want to switch my brain of and away from chess.

i have just started this 'online' chess thing and so far am happy with how my games are going.

the good things is that you get to really deeply analyze a position and that helps with OTB skill as well. of course, blitz is a totally different ballgame and is really inferior to turn-based or online chess
