how many titled players live with chess?

I was wondering how many titled players are chess professionals, i.e. live with chess. I'm talking about coaching mostly, because of course only the elite can get paid only for playing.
I'm interested especially in FMs (or similar).
The fact is that even if I improve and improve I'll always get 0wned by titled players, and I seriously doubt I'll ever become one myself. So it would be a good consolation to know that they play chess for a living. Of course I'm afraid this won't be the case for most of them.
Yes, I know about McShane, but I think like the 99% of GMs are chess professionals, right?
