How much of an indicator is tactics trainer?

I am wondering how much of an indicator the tactics trainer is. There is no doubt it has provided me with invaluable training in recognizing patterns. Obviously I still have a long way toeffectively intergrating all I am learning. My standard rating is 1005, my online rating is 1205 and (at the time of this post) my tactics rating is 1209.

I am just wondering how much of an indicator of overall ability you have found the tac trainer to be. How does your tactics rating correlate to your other ratings?

I've just reached a tactics rating of 2100. My live chess rating is 1446 and my OTB rating is roughly in between these two. I believe my tactics rating is overrated due to the fact that I often guess moves that happen to be correct without me actually calculating every single move sequence. Moreoever, it's much easier to spot tactics when you know that there is one; you automatically look for forced sequences and you're less hesitant to play tactical-looking moves that you'd never dare play over the board. Meanwhile, I believe my live chess is underrated mainly because I often play live chess when I'm tired or not really focused and just for entertainment purposes. I consider my OTB rating the most reliable indicator of my chess skill.

Mine is normally 500 points above my standard rating, and has been as much as 700 above. I think it shows how good you are at tactics trainer, because you don't need a particularly high pass rate to raise your rating. Plus you get partial credit if you pick the first move (which may be a queen sacrifice) even if you fail to follow it up. Which is clearly wrong as you'd just be down a queen in a game with no mate.
