We know Stockfish and AlphaZero are the best chess robots and that no human can beat them in a game, how much time would they take to defeat José Raúl Capablanca?

Toldsted

They will only draw him.

No, I respect capablanca but stockfish will defeat him easily. The Komodo engine adopted hikaru nakamura with three pawn odds. Capablanca cannot stand a chance against him even with queen odds specially with all modern theory.

Capablanca lost only 47 games in his whole life, mostly due to gross blunders or in his later years, when he suffered from high blood pressure. I guess the Capablanca of 1921 would be able to draw.

no way. Even magnus can defeat capablanca today.

JackRoach

They would beat Capablanca 10/10 times.

If Magnus can't beat them, neither can Capa.

RamKaushal

exactly! Capablanca is a legend but with all modern theory and engines, Capablanca won't stand a chance.

Am reminded of Garry's comments comparing people to computers (paraphrasing): "Comparing the best chess players to computers is like comparing Usain Bolt to a Ferrari"
