A non-royal king should be comparable in worth to a knight.
How much would a king be worth if it were not royal

It covers the same number of squares as a knight, but it has a more powerful attack pattern in certain situations. Can cover fewer squares than a bishop, but can visit twice as many. I'd say it's worth more than a knight or a lone bishop but less than half of a bishop pair. About 3½.
I've heard 4 points. The king is more valuable than a knight because it is easier to manœuvre and can control both light and dark squares at the same time. The king is also more valuable than a bishop because it can access every square on the board, and does not have the same difficulties as a knight. Also, in an endgame, the only time when kings are useful as pieces in the vast majority of games, the knight's ability to jump over other pieces is less relevant, so that increases the difference in value between a king and a knight. However, a king is less valuable than a rook because the rook is a long range piece and the king is not.

Someone should give it a go. Replace Black's Bishops with Kings which can't be checkmated. I'd like to see which side wins. If Black wins then the answer is 4 or more points. If White wins the answer is 3.5 or fewer points.

On chess.com/variants, a king is worth 3 points. Of course, that's just its defined value, but when factoring in relative value (based on the positions they are used in and the time control and other outside factors), I'd say a king can be worth between 2 and 5 points. Large range, I know, but again, it depends on the situation.

i would say 3-5 points
Not even sure what a non royal king is. What would be the goal of this new game since I guess checkmate can't happen

Attrition warfare, like in World War I.
The Last Pawn Standing wins.

kings are strong also because of other pieces, other pieces are faster moving but less agile ig since king is a debuffed queen in a sense

when looking at it from a fairy pieces naming sense, a rider type piece is a piece that has a base move set but can travel infinitely many squares in that direction, so yes like you said a queen is a king-rider

How much is the guard I believe that is the fake I mean fairy piece equivalent of a king that cant be mated.

It's just a non-royal king and it's worth 3 pts on chess.com/variants games, as I stated earlier
Oh Ok thank you I am sorry i must have missed that comment.
