How to add "join now" button when creating a group

It is simple. When creating the group, there is an option for whether new members have to be invited. If it is a public group, the button should be there. If the group is existing, change it in the edit group profile settings. You also have the option to decide whether new members need admin approval.
Does anyone know how to add the "join now" button when starting a new group? It seems like some groups have that optional button and some don't. Thanks
