I love the french defense.

up to 1550, is pretty strong for me.  Nevertheless, you must NOT lose peices/pawns...

often the game revolves around threats to the center pawns. if black can take both the d &e pawns it usually goes badly for white.

when I am blacking playing french, the game will often revolve around a kingside attack.  if you , as white are able to menace the center sometimes you will have the opportunity to play a successful attack on his king.

but with only one day to prepare, you will be better served to be well rested, instead of franctically studying.  if you are tired, hungry, or anxious this will stop you from playing your best.

If I were you, I would welcome a chance to play your friend.  you know what he's likely to play and have some idea of how he thinks in a chess game.  Being outbeat and positive will be a good mindset for you.

most ppl that play a "must win game" usually change up thier play style. they try to be super agressive because they think "ataack attack! win win win!" but i think its best to play as normal. ur normal play got you to the last round. why change it? in my personal opinion if your strongest opening is e6, but ur choose not to play it because you are worried about ur opponents response. your nervus-ness will be showing. also im only 1100 soooooooooooooooo dont lisen to me. ^^

I don't have a fide rating but a 1500 fide will be an easy win; this is the reason, tactics and solid play will win against these type of players, don't worry about opening because they don't play it correctly anyway.

Just see what he wants to do because I am one of those players break his plan and plan deeper but doing this we be only possible for 1800 so do deep thinking and long term positional analysis

first of all, don't think he'll play a specific line. if he knows you, he would likely never play something YOU know he plays.

second off, 1445's aren't that hard to beat. Play solid, don't blunder pieces and if you've been studying your puzzles try to get him into a tactical position or convert into an endgame if you gain some kind of material advantage;

you can never lose an endgame if you're up some kind of piece or pawn and don't play idiotically!

you should play for a win at every moment, don't passively defend and hope for a draw, play like it's your last game, always.

Thats not great advice, sometimes you can't break the plan and have to launch a counterattack or use a positional resource to survive. 1800s are very strong, and you'll need a lot more than 'breaking' his plan to win.
