How to become popular on youtube?

This is my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLJJrbHfWhhiczMRBL9A_PA

Some people think I've got a big future ahead of me but I don't really get many views.

How to get some attention?

Actually I think there is a rather large audience that enjoy bullet chess, at least 3min+ chess. Good strong players can teach and play at the same time, obviously not at their highest caliper but from sub-2000 players like the majority of chess players it is very entertaining to watch.

Well I'd argue bullet is also popular

Even Danny Rensch liked this video: https://youtu.be/34xV0qDiEes

Watching youtube videos of people playing bullet ranks right up there with watching youtube videos of people playing video games.  I understand it has its niche, its just not for me.

My son has a youtube channel. He actually has quite a few subs. He just got 1700 bucks from youtube and he's just a kid lol. He makes something called cringe videos. They are some pretty weird videos though, I'm not gonna lie. Anyway he just kept making videos after videos and they caught on. Maybe yours will catch on. Good luck

Charisma is probably one of the most important things to become popular. Charisma and talking about things most people care about.

Your videos may be entertaining for some people from the chess community, but for random people they are not interesting. You exaggerate too much your reactions and the vast majority of people on earth do not care at all about chess.

I think you have to work on your personality and change the concept of your videos. Because you can be sure that casual people do not find interesting watching a random dude playing bullet chess at some website.

Interesting I have 4.35K subscribers, rarely if ever feature blitz or bullet games, remain a total patzer and have no personality to speak of.  I go great periods without uploading any videos and treat people who dish out abuse ruthlessly.

If I was to give a piece of advice to an upcoming youtube chess sensation I would say be sincere.  Why is this important?  because people are investing their time, they want to go away with something for that investment, a piece of knowledge, a better understanding, something they apply in their own games.  The alternative is to make five minute videos where people learn nothing but are willing to give five minutes just to watch a game.  This is what Mato does.  Ok all of his videos are exactly the same but it doesn't matter people don't care, they just wanna watch a game.

These guys I thought were brilliant but they hardly made any videos.

Learn to sing, dance, do stunts, and other entertaining acts. Chess videos is not attractive to people in general including chess lovers like me. Even videos of famous GMs and WCC does not get much views.

If you want a lot of views do an ASMR video, people love them.  Even the rubbish ones get like 50K views after a few days.

You were not asking about how to make quality you were asking about how to become popular,  you got an answer and did not like it, well ok, life goes on.
