How to brutalize the French in a 1 min game.
Keep in mind just a 1 min. game. Although I've won with this gambit at longer times, it isn't really reliable against good competition at high level with enough time. It more throws a regular French Defense player so many complications, with natural play leading to disaster, that it works very well in quick.

I recently had this played against me in one of my (very few) CC games here -- I'm glad I encountered it here first and not at a tournament
yes...Black does...but the issue black has is to make up his time loss by dealing with the complications in a 1 min game.
Immortal, awesome technique for a 1 min game. Nice attack! Why isn't this line reliable against good competition in long time controls? What do they play?
After 11...Nd4 I think Black has a small, but very real advantage
Black can't play 11. Nd4 because of the pin on the king.
True..but black still has a small advantage and this is why the gambit is considered "no good". However, it is so dangerous, and full of pitfalls, that it makes it a great tool to have in your belt when playing blitz or 1 min. I like it because natural moves create more problems for black.
what line has black getting a small advantage? In this game it looks like he was trounced mercilessly.
immortalgamer, I don't think this is even your best 1 minute game with this opening. I remember losing miserably to it. ;-)
Here is my immortalgamer inspired anti-french bullet game:
I think the main line has black equalizing with a small advantage. You know computers these days give half pawn advantage. In human terms I'm not ever going to be at that sort of level to take advantage of a half pawn advantage to victory.

Nice game! I didn't know I played you with this one? I'm happy to see you've put it into your bag of tricks!
No no I'm sorry...
Thanks it's called the "Orthoschnapp Gambit" if you'd like to study it.
Here is the mainline:

That's against the Caro-Kann, True he does mention a couple of the bad moves for black in your line, but then he digresses into the Caro. No main line mentioned. I'm convinced you're messing with my head. You're like that room in Stephen King's "1408". I must get outta here!
I'm not sure anybody goes around handing out the "refutation" to this gambit. Here is another link that will disappoint you.

I can say a few things about this marvelous line against the French:
1. My personal database (which should not contain one minute, but has many three) has 142 games after White's second move. I've played both sides with some frequency. In this base of online games, White won 56, drew 4, and lost 82.
2. I have faced it from the Black side in rated OTB play once--a nineteen move draw.
3. I played the Black side against gbidari last year and so present that game (at some risk since omitting the loser's name is considered good manners: thus someone should post a a win they scored against me to even the shame so to speak).
