I've tried everything against my friend who keeps using the Fried Liver on me. Even the Traxler doesn't seem to work. Help pls.

Don't take back on e5 with 5. ….Nxe5?. Move 5…. Na5!

5...Nxd5? is not it. The right move is Na5.

7...Kg8?? was even worse. Play Ke6 instead.

You can try this:

Even though it doesn't 'brutally punish' the opponent, it gives you a comfortable position to play with. If you want to use a trap to punish your opponent, there's a plenty of youtube videos about Knight's Attack counters.
