How to Deal with frustrating Circumstances while Playingg

Let me set the story for you. I was going to play a few live games before bed. I had nearly beaten my first opponent ( mate in 3 or 4), when my roomate walked in and started rearranging stuff in my side of the room. Obviously, I was rather upset and proceded to deal with this nonsense. To make a long story short, I had been arguing with him for about 15 minutes and my live game was running out. I was frustrated with the situation, embarrassed about wasting the time of opponent, and was very unfocused. I blundered... horribly. It was probably THE worst blunder I had ever done (outside of losing to scholar's mate in my earliest games). I need some advice on how to overcome this type of situation.

 Ditch the room mate.

@Joseph not an option. The roomate won't be touching my stuff anymore ,but I was asking a little more broadly on how to deal with distracting/frustrating circumstances.
