how to gain points?

how does one gain points in chess.com? are they only gained through tounaments?

You mean member points? I know you get them for posting but I didn't know you got them for tournements. Do you get them for team matches, too?

If you mean member ratings you get more points by simply winning rated games.

I thought you could get a chunk be submitting articles and the like. But I may be wrong. (of member points)

how did you get so many then? and awardchess has like 30,000.
