How to get better at chess?

So, I am pretty bad, and not consistent at chess, and want to get better. does anyone have any tips?

Don't play to much, but try to learn from your games. The direct feedback from a game only gives you limited learning. And is quickly forgotten when playing a new game. So prioritize to find the reasons why you (or your opponent) lost.

And most important: Step on the shoulders of giants and read a chess book. Then try to use your new knowledge in your games.
