Try to remember the opponent also wants to win; you have to keep an eye on what they are doing.

Try not to move the same piece more than once in the first 10 moves,  you might also want to castle in those ten moves.

No point in giving the opponent check, just to have them interpose a piece that now threatens your  piece.- If you now must move that piece to safety, you kind of wasted a turn (tempo).

If you start to lose a bunch of games, take a day or two off, no games, maybe a few puzzles in stead or just no chess at all.

Good luck!

It's not impossible ...... I tilted from 1050 to 750 in a week, two weeks later back over 900. I remember being 500 and intimidated by 800 rated players. There's no shortcuts. Don't cheat, and don't cheat yourself by ignorant repetition of mistakes, that's my biggest fault, diligent practice..... I play too much but to be fair I just love chess 🤣😬

Make a new account and set the level to expert, that will get you to 1500 rating. Just kidding. Try to follow the platitudes: occupy the center with Pawns, develop the minor pieces, get castled, connect the Rooks, double on the file you want to open, make a Pawn break, trade pieces naturally, put a Rook on the seventh rank, double Rooks on the seventh rank, activate the King when the Queens come off, and try to Queen a Pawn. The sign of a good game will be when you can't tell which side of the board you're playing anymore.

So many people cheat on this app. My score get adjusted often because people cheat big time. It’s so frustrating. Trying to get my score to 1000. Feels like I’m playing a computer

1. remember principles like king safety, developing pieces and controlling the center

2. trust your gut and what you feel is best to do in the position, always have confidence

3. there are always going to be tricks so remembering some puzzles helps in those levels

Not sure. I'm nearly at 1200 myself but I keep having losing streaks every time I get close. Let me know when you find out the secret

++ Always check your intended move is no blunder before you play it.
It is a little mental discipline.
Hang no pieces, hang no pawns.
Whenever your opponent hangs a piece or a pawn, take it.

I find that im too impatient.... considering taking the app off my ph and only playing on my laptop. 65% of my blunders are made when i make moves at the traffic lights.... the rest when im drunk happy.png

Dont chess and drive

1. stick to basic opening guidelines
-develop your pieces
-occupy/control the center (d4/e4 - d5/e5)
-castle
-no early attacks (typically stuff like Qh5 in the first 4 moves)
-try not to move a piece twice before the other pieces have moved (many exceptions to this guideline)

2. learn basic endgames
-opposition
-basic rook endgames
-if needed learn to mate with rook vs lone king and queen vs lone king

3. stop hanging pieces/become solid

4. tactics tactics tactics
-do 10 to 15 tactics puzzles every day.But don't rush through them playing any move that comes to mind.
Take your time, look at all promising moves, calculate the lines in your head untill you're certain you've found the best move.

Simple endgame examples:

1. white to move and draw

2. white to move and win

Just one more cool basic endgame example:

black to move and draw (without even breaking a sweat)
