How to have fun in chess? (I dont know)

Hey everyone,

I ran into some problems when i play chess especially when playing national chess tournaments. First of all, when for preparations for tournaments I play a lot of games and analyze on chess.com. The only problem with this, I always have the tendancy to feel frustrated and angry at myself when im at home which would end up slamming my desk, shouting a lot, even throwing things. The same problem also includes when playing in national chess tournaments when I lose but not including the same things at home. Instead I would go into a corner and think negative thoughts about myself and feel like its like the end of world. My coach tells me to "just enjoy the game" when I don't know how to. I am always trying to improve my games for tournaments by  playing more puzzles, games, and analyze games(always with a long time control) but I always feel I am not improving. Every national tournament my rating is dropping. From 1575 to around 1495 I believe. My coaches say I must "enjoy the game" but I feel I can't. If I enjoy the game I have the tendancy to lose so I get serious but the same story.

And this is a serious problem.

If you can't enjoy the game, perhaps it's because for you chess is more than anything else a tool to let off your competitive spirit. If so, unless you become a very good and very successful chess player, you will always be grappling with frustration...

Try to follow the advice of your coaches, which in my opinion is the wisest they could give you.

I don't know much about it, maybe national rating in his Country is different. Chesscom rating is just related to chesscom users.

@nik1111 my rating in chess.com is not related to my rating in my country. They are both different. I only use this site to practice for upcoming tournaments
