Organise a club tournament?

we have a ladder system in our club...you challenge the next higher player to climb the ladder..if they refuse they drop a rung...if you win you climb a rung..the top 6 players on the ladder are automatically on the chess team the plays against other schools. Our advisor/coach is also a USCF TD and sets up and runs tournaments
