How to keep your head together in chess

So I had a club tournament game today that went horribly. I studyed all week on various topics to try and improve my chess mentality. But then when I got to the club I played some warm up 5 min blitz with some people who came early to warm up. And they just destroyed me, they barely used 30 seconds to my minuet and obviously knew all the opening theory. It just crushed my confidence, and when I started playing the actual game (90mins) I played like garbage. It just wrecked my whole mentality and everything I was working for. I play this game to explore the art but when I just get walked over like I'm nothing it's just so demoralizing. Why do people at 1900+ not realize how crappy it feels. One of the guys just kept going "seriously you do see that's hanging". Like I'm an idiot or something. Why can't I just be bad at the game and not have to feel like dirt. I just want to have fun not feel so damn miserable.

1900+ players lose often too.   the more one plays, the more one loses.....everyone !

please don't get bogged down in your losses.   you must take glory in all your wins.   though it sounds like you lose more often than you win, big deal.      It will be those good feelings of your victories that will ensure your confidence go back up.    That will help your overall game.      If need be, take a slight hiatus away from chess and come back recharged with a better attitude !
