Is there any human skill which does not diminish during a period of neglect?
Of course, there isn't.
Losing a few games will lower your rating until it reflects your current skill level.

That's because you are typical average chess player. You guys don't take chess much serious and normally you haven't studued much and after a while you forget everything and you are playing like a beginner. It's normal.
I see that you lost 18 games in a row on March 26th, 17 of them against one player, many of them less than 10 moves.
Yet your rating recovered soon enough, didn't it? 😉
Dayamn...!!! So that's what I have to look forward to? Oh well, at least I know the forum regulars won't be too hard on me if I start playing again...
Sometimes easily gets impatient against one single player who keeps requesting rematch after I lose

I'm sorry. Are you saying that your impatience led you into playing those last 11 games?
Seriously though, what helps me is untimed tactic puzzles. Place a high value on accuracy, not speed. Find all the threats and calculate them. Work hard to find moves for the opponent the screws up your idea.
An hour or two a day, maybe for as long as a week or two depending on how rusty you are, and you wont be missing the simple stuff during your games.

Sandbagging isn't illegal right? [nervous laughter] Riiiiiight? [quick glances to the side]
Looks like typical player on tilt mode, losing on purpuse because he can't take it anymore. Then creating forum post asking for help.
Sounds like the other guy hnng1 something, who claimed tactics dont improve you, but makes you worse, and then same story - 10-20 games he resigned in a row and then crying why he is so bad.
my ratings recovered eventually because when I have patience, I'm better
Quote from Wolverine: Patience isn't really my strongest suit.
Just that after I'm busy for a while, my tactics declined, and I get exploited for a couple of games before I pick my game up and reach 1400+

not really losing on purpose. When you play late at night and already lost a couple, you get irritated with people asking for re-match because it's irritating that they "take advantage of me" to gain higher ratings. I, for the record, NEVER do that. If I beat a person, I always move on to another player. But I don't want to decline rematch, that's all. Since I got tired, I just lost interested in playing another 11 games.
Haven't played for a couple months. Come back and lose 10 games in a row. Suddenly my every move gets countered, and I fall easily into traps
