Well, from my personal experience, some of the most important thing to remember during 1000-1200 elo range are:
1) Make less blunders
2) Tactics, tactics, tactics (always look for tactics)
3) Pressure (both tactically and positionally), opponents on this range usually will crumble under pressure
4) Having an opening for white and black that you're comfortable with (simple ones like Italian Game, Scandinavian, etc) will certainly help
