How to recover Elo tilt

I recently hit 1300 rapid, then ranked all the way to 1175 Elo within a 2 days, I feel like deleting and quiting chess for a while but I know that's not the answer. Does anyone have any tips to help me recover this progress and do you think it is possible to reach 1300 again in a week, thanks.

This has happened to me as well

I’m also rated 1300 on my active account

What I do when this happens is play very little chess for a day and very little screen time, then get a good nights rest (at least 8-9 hours)

Then the next day, play chess

Chess is all about state of mind

When ever your in good state of mind you can focus better and play better

ELO doesn’t usually come back fast, you have to work toward it

This happens to all of us bro, the trick is to stop playing for at least an hour after 5 or so losses in a row. Also rating doesn’t matter a lot tbh.

If you have anymore questions ask me

Yes, it happens to all of us

Colecollecter, how long have you been playing?

my advice - play it slow, you aren't getting that elo back in a day, so just focus on controlling tilt and playing sensibly until you get back to 1300. Best of luck to you.

Maybe you just played too much rapid and your brain needed to refresh itself to relax . So you could try to have a nap and then start play rapid . Wish you win the rating back !

@colecollector

With all due respect and I mean that honestly, you're 2100 rapid. I mean, it wouldn't matter to me anymore at that point either. That's the big goal for me on chess.com. I've been stuck at 1400 for 6 months. It shouldn't matter, but it gnaws at your confidence over time. Especially since anyone with any objective view on the game knows that 1400 chess.com is a garbage rating. Still basically a beginner in my eyes. If I ever hit your level, I imagine rating will cease to matter as I'll have proved myself to myself. For now, being stuck down here at this rating is discouraging and I've been in this guy's shoes more than once. It's a humbling feeling that also leaves one hollowed out and feeling much self doubt.

Seriously though, mad respect. I hope to get where you're at someday.
