How to stop blundering?

My biggest issues that have always prevented me from advancing in the rankings are my general lack of gamesense and just how much I blunder. I want help with fixing the second in general, because it really frustrates me to only see a blunder when I'm punished for it. And even worse, to *not* see my opponent's.

This is prob something you have heard before, but it’s the best advice I can give. If you wanna stop blundering, take your time before each move. Especially in rapid, give yourself more than 3 seconds before making a move in a position that’s more or less complicated. And one thing I see a ton with players rated 400 or lower (no disrespect to you btw) is players tend to lock in on one side of the board and not really look at the full board. Oftentimes that leads to blunders because you will be so focused on the side that your queen is on, for example, and you will completely forget about the opposite side that has a bishop threatening checkmate. Another reason to take your time and study the full picture. That’s my best advice.

It's not what most folks want to hear because it's such generic advice and people say it all the time, but simply taking your time and thinking before you move will halve your blunders at the very least. However, don't expect to eliminate them entirely. Try as you might, you will never stop playing moves that immediately make you want to straight up disappear out of embarrassment.

Taking time is a good thing but pretty difficult to sustain with time controls. Should I just play Classic or something?
