Start with a4 and tell him, that hes wrong, because you've heard the same thing , but only with a4 . A4 always wins . LMAO , you have to be good tho if you play a4 .
How to win against someone who says that "h5 always wins"

Just take the center [centre for you people in England]--start with 1. e4 and if you get the chance--follow with d4.

You do not have to do anything special. 2...h5? is such a weak move that it is almost worth positional advantage as high as one material pawn. There are reasons why people don't play this (it is even weaker move than grob defense 2...g5)

I am 1750 and my opponent is 2000+ otb, that is why I brought this up
I want to know the best strategy for combating an opponent who insists that 1...h5 always wins. Should I just go for e4/d4, use an opening that makes h5 unnecessary(such as the Closed Sicilian, 1.e4 h5 2.Nf3), or anything else?
So, I was at a ladder game. One person a few years older (and 2000+) suddenly said while we were kibitzing a blitz game before the round, "h5 always wins, and it beats anyone!" I quickly challenged him with, "Let's play, we'll see who wins." However, the next round suddenly started. I told him that I would play him the next time I see him. That next time is about a week away.
