Pretty much the title. With rating inflation being an issue and top players aging, its hard to know whether the new players are better or just beating the current top players when they are on the decline.
Deep Blue however shouldn't have declined, from when it was first unveiled. If we dust it off and let Magnus loose on it, do we think the new understanding of chess would be enough to topple its supremacy?
There's always the risk of us simply understanding the flaws in its computation better, but it feels like an interesting question.
