Nice rant. Maybe, just maybe, you could try studying chess and improve that way? As a diamond member who has only done 115 out of the nearly 4000 Chess Mentor lessons available, that seems a logical place to start. Check out GM Patrick Wolffes tactics courses. He's got over a dozen on all the tactical motifs. Maybe if you learn to recognize a few more patterns, you'll have better results. OTOH your rant seemed pretty lighthearted so maybe you like where you are. Studying isn't for everyone.
Humorous rant ;-)

Hi fazmaster,
I also suffer from chess blindness, missing captures on both sides, so I found this chess vision tool that helps with this kind of thing:

I am not a high level player. Basically a poor blitz player, average standard player....But is there a cure for chess blindness? From not seeing hanging pieces (mine and my opponents. Not seeing easy mate patterns or immediate ones for that matter. Not seeing a stupid pawn guarding the square I have just put my queen on? I keep telling myself these are mistakes easily avoided and to focus a little harder but again and again I throw winning games away to Chess Blindness....
There...I feel better!
Cheers,
