There aren’t a lot of published A0 games, and most of those had the openings chosen.

Leela Chess Zero probably has the most extensive neural network generated book available from millions of self-play games and she plays better than A0 did with its famous match with Stockfish.

speacially want against 1.e4 and 1.d4 those are then main moves right?

I don’t know of any databases as black. When she played Stockfish and was allowed to choose against e4, she played 24 Berlins with an even score, 7 Giuoco Pianissimos with a +1, and one Giuco Piano with a +1.

It seems her preferred opening against e4 is the Berlin. She responded e5 every time.

I think as black she preferred the QG.

This was a couple of years ago and both engines have improved, though Leela was +12 here. Since then they’ve stopped letting engines choose because far too many games played out almost exactly the same way.

Maybe you can email the LC0 team and ask if they have that data available. It’s worth a shot.

Remember, though the Berlins were drawn, Leela does not play for a draw. Her training goal is to win, so she thinks the Berlin gives her the best chance of winning. Take that for what it’s worth.

I was also watching the computer chess championship and this discussion comes up all the time. We do know that Leela disliked the Sicilian, French, and Caro-Kann for sure. She also thinks the Dutch is straight up terrible.

I’m not sure that this helps for human play though. Humans can be outprepared with nonstandard openings. Computers cannot.

Theory on the Berlin has advanced since Kramnik. It’s not actually as drawish as its reputation suggests. There is a famous game where A0 destroyed Stockfish with the Berlin as black.

I can’t say this enough though. I think all of this is foolish. Humans aren’t computers and preparation and familiarity with the openings are more important than the particular opening. Again, computers can’t be surprised, people can.
