I’m really pleased - this is my peak rating, and I’m hoping to increase it more over the coming weeks - but just wanted to share as 60,000 people really isn’t that many on a platform with tens of millions.

anyone can become a chess master .Serious study matters more than age: The key factor in improvement isn't how old you are, but the quality and consistency of your study. Focusing on fundamentals, analyzing your own games deeply, and consistent practice is how progress is made.

I think there’s also a very significant developmental factor. A chess brain is wired in a certain way, a little bit like learning languages. It’s academically proven that it’s easier to learn a language as a child, while your brain still is moulding itself etc. it’s technically possible to learn a language as an adult, but it’s so much harder. With chess, I think it’s much the same: almost all masters were already masters or close to it by the time they finished puberty (I.e. the most a brain changes since being a toddler). I am going to continue trying to be the best chess player I can, but I doubt I’ll ever make the jump to any title

So I would also have sent a false alarm if my alt once broke into top 1000 rapid and went out of it pretty fast
