Hello there!
My name is Zane, I'm from Chess.com Support and I'm contacting you in regards to the report which you've sent recently, I will be very happy to help you! 😁
Thank you for the bug report!
I've talked to our developers about it and it seems that it's a known issue that some parts of the board become non-interactable.
Our developers are currently working on resolving it. I'm really sorry about the trouble!
If you cannot move the pieces on the first row of your chessboard, it may be due to a Windows bug. In Windows, sometimes there is an error where a portion of the bottom of your screen can become un-clickable due to a remnant of the taskbar preview. See this link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-11-cant-click-mouse-anywhere-on-lower-18th/d60b169a-0708-40e5-aad7-895fac0e68ab
Fortunately, you can fix this by either resizing your browser window or chessboard on Chess.com to avoid the un-clickable area.
Restarting your computer also typically resolves the issue
If you're having any further questions or require additional assistance, please send an email to support@chess.com -- we will be more than happy to help you! 😊
Best wishes,
Zane
Pardon my delay in my response, I had the last couple days off but am back at my desk for the week!
It happens much more than we like, that is for sure. We are working with Microsoft to see if we can get a resolution for this much quicker, but luckily the resizing the browser seems to alleviate the issue and can be done relatively quickly.
If you have any other issues feel free to contact me or reach us at support via an email to support@chess.com.
Cheers!
