Take the time to carefully choose an opening you like and play only that one, so you don't get too lost. Remember to respect the three principles of the opening, namely:

1- Take control of the center by placing pawns

2- Develop all your pieces

3- Secure your king

Also think about tactics and take the time to think carefully about each of your moves, asking yourself why your opponent is playing this move, what threat he's posing, whether all his pieces are protected, etc. There's no secret: to improve, you have to play! Also, remember not to overplay. You need to be in good shape every game, take the time to play at your best level so you don't just play one game after another and learn nothing!

Here are youtube channels for chess tips.

Chessbrah’s habits speedrun, the Colle-Zukertort speedrun, and the queen’s gambit speedrun(new) which is nice if you are interested in learning the Colle-Zukertort or the queen’s gambit(it’s an opening/movie) then you should watch those speedrun series and the habits series too. I will let chessbrah explain the habits series. Explanation is the first part of ep. 1.

Remote Chess Academy: This YouTube channel is where you learn the middlegame stuff I talked about in #4 and the GM here explains it well and don’t forget this channel has a vid talking about the Colle-Zukertort too and endgames. This is the place where I recommend to search how to stop blunders.

Chess Vibes: Here is where you learn most of the small things that don’t matter as much as what Remote Chess Academy says, but all of the small things combined are more than what the YouTube channel Remote Chess Academy says combined and most endgame stuffs are here than other channels I have mentioned.

just mainly focus on opening principles and ur pretty much set, e5 against e4 should be simplest and slav or smth against d4

What is a good opening against E4 as black?

French Defense opening. Like #1. Rightttttt?

#9 the slav is not good. Only if you’re 1500+
Avatar of pleewo

id start with e5 but its completely up to you

why only above 1500? I think its perfect because it allows development of the light squared bishop

#13 I usually do e5 but I have no tactics only solid play till the opponent blunders
