I don't get it ..Why such long abandonment times?

Very bad persons (i thought about another word but i will not write it here) can leave games and make you loose 10, 15 minutes waiting for the win.

But i just go on another window on my computer to change the music i am listening to and it's written "abandonned game" like wtf

you are not solving the problems of unfair players and you are wasting the quality of the game, and you are favorizing the ones who leaves for long time, cause i will not remain on the chess.com window waiting and doing nothing, i will go another window

Are you using a desktop or laptop? Or a phone?

I use a desktop mainly and I can look at other windows while I am waiting without a problem.

But you can't do that on a phone.

What browser are you using? What operating system?

Like I said, on a Windows 10 desktop, using Chrome, I can open and operate other windows without any problems.

One guy in another thread said that the abandonment time is too short...

wtf ???? sporcle should change that and assume one clear rule !

I recently disconnected and after literally 10 seconds later when I reconnected, it had abandoned the game. Not long at all!

If they don't disconnect, you can be left waiting a long time, e.g. if they go afk.

But if you put aside 20 mins for a 10 min game, you should be prepared to wait that to win it if they do this. You can do something else in the mean time.
