I don't understand the geniuses who refuse a draw after a second repitition and then repeat a third

So sometimes during games, when I am playing some players repeat positions twice, and I offer them a draw, BUT THEY REFUSE. Naturally I feel they want to keep playing. However they then repeat the position a third time.

Just don't get such people, why refuse a draw only to then move into a drawn game they very following move.

What is up with that?

Probably because they don't realize it's a repetition.  Just claim it on the third move; how hard is that?

I mean when you are moving back and forth you sort of keep track of repititions. Nothing is hard about claiming a repetition draw. However the logic of refusing a draw only to then repeat a 3rd instance the very following move and drawing is something that I don't understand.

I mean if one is going to repeat positions a 3rd instance then why not accept the draw offer. Do these people not know that 3 fold repetition is a draw.

Maybe your opponent just wants to double check there's no other possibility before drawing? What's the big deal

I get what you mean and sometimes same as real life it's about war, passion, anger etc. , so accepting a draw offer would be something like a friendly encounter and repeating 3 times, which means a real bull dog fight, where someone separates you just because, so it's a draw without agreement like a real fight.

If they think for a while and do this, what's the problem? They wanted to make sure if there was any other move! Also, if they move fast and repeat immediately, who cares!? Only a few seconds taken from your life!
