An account you only play chess on, you can blow games, throw your rating, win or lose. Whatever. You can feel more relaxed playing on you sockpuppet account not feeling the pressure of always having to look good.

yes its overwhelming .
but you can learn it .go one step at a time .how do i know this? because i am a beginner too and i have started my journey . my game improved .
in the beginning i was playing 3 to 4 matches per day .( and losing every one of them )
then i restricted myself to 1 match . and devoted a little bit of time to research and studying chess . my first goal was learn one new thing about chess and second goal was to employ what i learned in the following match .
my advice is go to wikipedia chess and first learn the terminolgy used in chess .
use the video lessons available at chess.com .
you can do it . i hope we will play a match someday .
That is normal. Chess is overwhelming. Start with simple tactics. Learn a few opening moves and you will be fine.

A sockpuppet account is having 2 accounts which is against the chess.com rules.
