OP that is not Fool's Mate

Avatar of Fet
@ChessACC_YT but it's basically the same pattern
Avatar of i-AGC

Not really, the knight plays a part too

Avatar of Fet
But it's still very similar. I would say it's a fool's mate PATTERN.

But I wouldn't

Fetorenczi has a higher elo and is more experienced than u. Most people would say that that is the fool's mate pattern

Bro who cares about elo right now, We're just discussing about the pattern. No need to bring up that he's in a slightly higher league than me.

Fools mate is the 2 move checkmate. It may be similar to fools mate but it’s not actually fools mate

Avatar of i-AGC

OP doesn’t seem to, neither do some people in this forum 💀

It is the fool's mate pattern even though there is a knight participating as well. Fools' mate doesn't have to be in 2 moves either:

That is fool's mate as well, even though it is a bishop not a queen. Like I said earlier, the participation of the knight doesn't make it not fools' mate, it is still the same basic pattern. Take these back rank mates for example:

Those were all back rank mates, despite differences in piece placements and roles. This logic is true for fools mate as well. This article proves my claims: https://www.chess.com/terms/fools-mate
