Not discrimination. If the opponent doesn't respond, the game is aborted. The opponent may choose to abort but doesn't have to choose to abort, it's automatic. There are several reasons a game may be aborted. The opponent aborts the game before his/her first move or starting the game. Or, if there is no timely response, the system aborts the game. For example, the opponent gets called away from the game and can't get back in time to respond. Either they can choose to abort the game before leaving or, the system automatically aborts the game. Either player can choose to abort either 1) before the game has started, 2) After the opposing player has completed their first move (if white). Thereafter, neither can choose to abort the game. This can only happen before the opponent starts the game. Once the game has started, only the system can abort while the game is in progress. Moves are time sensitive and if it goes beyond a certain time, the game may be aborted by the algorithm. An opponent who cannot continue to play the game (due to external circumstances, for example) can ask the opponent to agree to a draw, but the two must agree to it. If the game is aborted AFTER it has started, it counts as a "win" to the other contestant, due to "abandonment".
