Chess has more of a love-hate relationship with me.
Take a break from chess if you are getting frustrated, and do other things that you enjoy instead.

Yes chess is sometimes the worst type of game in the world. It's a solo type if game you against another person. And when you lose its personal. It's your fault, and because we are in the Internet everyone is fine being a douche about it. Your just going along your day trying to take a break and have some fun playing chess when boom. Blunder after blunder and just after you felt like you have been improving. You sit back and feel dumb and wonder why you even care in the first place. My advice is get off online chess, at least get off this one. The people on here are not the nicest of people of no one really cares about much besides their rating. I mean heck even a rematch is impossible on here. I have other chess apps and rematch are almost a given in those games but on here very few people seem to want to play a real game of chess. Chess is funner when it's with a real person, people that will actually help you if your worse than them. For all us none GM wannnabes who just play to have fun the online format is a poision. I often hate this game after playing on this site. Maybe this just hits a bit personal but man I miss playing a decent game with decent people for once.
Conquering the field, torturing the queen, killing the king, nothing for flimsy skinned people,
but for you chess is great, you don't dislike it

well I spent about 12 years doing the fanatical musician thing - the people I met were smart - they say music might be your dream but have a day job alternate plan b dream job to fall back on - so that if your chess dream does not pan out then you are not reduced to boiling chess pieces to make soup - like ? I can't imagine my life without chess ? one lady spends 12 years studying chess and what does she get - in reserve army I met Sergeant Major Wheeler - her father was a chartered accountant - as a child on his lap she made up her mind she was going to be a chartered accountant like her dad - so a kabillion years ago around march she said she was going to graduate a major in accounting then do a number of years articling at her fathers chartered account firm as if all went well she was going to be the youngest ever chartered account IN ALL OF CANADA ( ladies are sometimes animalistic - so often they make us guys look bad ) - then there are ladies that take the same 12 years as sgt major wheeler and study chess - in 12 years what will they have ?

I love chess. Playing it makes me so happy and all my problems disappear. I think you hate losing, not the actual game. I can't imagine my life without chess now.
yes Virginia there is a santa and yes there is more to life than chess = in british columbia a kabillion years ago - i used to play chess with this rich chess player in a coffee shop - ( rich or not he was a batchelor and lived with his mother ) one day he said he envyed poor people like me - I said why? - he said a rich friend bought his son a rich car - the son SCRATCHED it and left a note and committed suicide - it put the father in a mental institute - rich player said he was given the car he could have done anything sold it blew it up what have you - if in 12 years someones love of chess fades - hopefully someone will have other interests to fall back on - a person who has dreams will never commit suicide - so do not have one dream - make and have a kabillion dreams - you might need them in lifes dark hours
Many people here do not rematch because their opponent suddenly becomes incomparably better in the second game. I don't know why, but it happens quite often ;-)
Hating chess is somewhat normal to me, when i got tired of playing chess or when i play bad. I stop, just stop playing and take a week to month break then after that, i love chess and got better! honestly, even i don't play chess year straight i got my rating up from 1300 up to 1600 from 2016-2017.
why when you seem to be doing so well... You play games that remind you how bad you really are!!!
