I play best when stay in focus mode so I can focus on playing the best chess instead of being stressed about my opponents higher/ lower rating throughout the game. Quality of play certainly goes up.

Omg you're right. I notice I wasn't thinking about my opponent's rating points or mine or his name or what flag etc because it's hidden from the screen. I love it. I think I'm gonno convert to it permanently. Also noticed that most of these 1400 rated players aren't really 1400 rated. they play as if they are 1800 strength. So it's best I hide their rating so I don't mistakenly believe they are lower than they actually are.

Yup, no distractions, just chess. If you play on mobile, however, there’s no such mode.
Thus t’would be relieving if they had a mode on mobile that showed nothing but the chess board on the whole screen with ratings no where to be found.

That means I"ll have to avoid mobile gaming. The major plus is that there are no advertisement in focus mode either! It looks really clean! I mean, it wouldn't make a difference for you since you're a paying member but since i'm on basic.. lol.. but if the site decides to monetize on that, i'll pay.

I just accidentally discovered the focus board option and my god my I feel more focused than i ever have. I thought why do I even have a chat box open? I don't need to chat with my opponent. Its' like i suddenly realized that this entire time i kept the chatbox open bceause i'm expecting the opponent to say something to me. Maybe that's a distracting expectation.
