I'm not the best player. Now as i understand it, as you get to the top ranks, certain plays are the only viable ones. It's at that point it gets a bit samey. At my level, i can play stupid and wild games and still have a chance of winning, and if i don't, it will be a fun game. it's that wild game i enjoy, not the huge analysis and devoting thousands of hours of study. I do wonder if the great players envy my position. This is the problem with chess players, a lot of people seem to want to get to the position they can win titles and earn money. You have to be ridiculously good and willing to dedicate your life, mind, and maybe soul to do that, and very very few are. And how many of us know the true cost of doing so?
