I know what is "Automatically claim victory when time runs out!", but what is "Avoid Time-Outs" for?

In Daily Chess options, we have an option to turn off, called "Automatically claim victory when time runs out!", which I personally turned off, as I am here not for the victories, but for playing the chess, for the fun and for the self-improvement evil.png

However, when we go into [Play] --> [Daily Chess] --> [Custom Challenge] --> [More Options], then we find an option called "Avoid Time-Outs"

Is it something like the first option, but used only for this single game that you want to start? Or something else?
This is just my guess, as I couldn't find ANYTHING on the website about this.

I searched in the Support Page, using word "avoid", but I didn't found anything related:

I searched on the forums, but I also didn't found anything:

Maybe there should be some kind of explanation about this somewhere?

Plus, the most important, so I don't have to guess:

What does this option do? happy.png

Oh no... I was sure that I entered Suggestions and Feedback subforum, but looks like with so many chess.com browser tabs opened I put it in the wrong place... cry.png

Can someone from Moderators Team move the question? Or maybe I should either delete this and ask again in the correct place, ask again in the correct place.. or just leave it be?

Not sure what to do now.

Thanks!

  • Avoid Time Outs - If your opponent times out, you win; but if you don't want to win that way, enable this to help ensure you get someone who finishes their games.

Aha!  It's the "no wins on time" mode.

The option does not prevent a timeout by itself. It just reduces the probability by pairing you with a daily opponent who has a zero timeout history.
