A question for adults 21 or older. Do you feel like you play better being slightly drunk while playing chess?

Alcohol doesn't help me play chess.

Usually worse, sometimes better.

More imagination, less accuracy.

Alcohol only? With Benzo's and weed, yeah, Do I play better? there is a time of usage interference and only aspect that is better is creativity, I recommend no drugs at all for health in longer terms or even needed at all.

What is fact is that we have no freedom of choice, that is due to lobbying and revolving door into gov and corporate. If I'm wrong correct me please but that is precisely fascism. Mussolini said it, the merge of big corps and goverments.

Perhaps with *amphetamines* one might be more focused, but with alcohol (a chemical depressant, remember), one is impaired during play, whether buzzed or outright drunk.

I play faster but less accurately.

My chess club meets in a bar & grill. I can attest to the fact that beer does not make your chess any better.

Avatar of Duncan-Mcloud43

I agree, but sometimes it makes it more fun.

Definitely worse when drinking.

Magnus on acid could probably send me crying toward the exit.

I’ve played chess a few times after drinking, and my games get way sloppier. It feels more fun at the time, but then I see all the mistakes I wouldn’t normally make. Alcohol messes with my focus, even when I think I’m doing fine.

I know how easy it is to underestimate how much alcohol affects decision-making, not just in chess but in life. I’ve heard some peole had good experience at Abbeycare, sometimes real help makes all the difference in breaking those habits.
