I play OTB during online rapid games. It helps with the 3D vision

Online games are not good for practice

No wonder there's so few grandmasters these days because we all practice online.

2D versus 3D spatial cognition, two different brain processes.

I'm not saying online is bad but online should be supplemented by a OTB chessboard

That is, use a OTB board to make the moves as they appear on the online board.

Unfortunately that means blitz and 1 min games can't be played cognizantly

Unless you are Squidward and have eight limbs to play online and OTB simultaneously

Or Michael Tal...he saw double when he was drunk and thought he had four hands

Lmao

If there were too many grandmasters FIDE would need a title higher than GM.

"Online games are not good for practice"

disagree. It's much easier to get experience through online games than otb, simply because it is more convenient. I would not have improved as fast in chess if I could not implement my ideas that I learned in books in-game, and against equally strong opposition.
