You only joined 4 days ago.

I just want to be better. I been blundering games and just gets to me when I play like that when I see all these 2,000 and up act like its as easy as breathing and then I'm like wow I really suc, why bother? I do play for the fun of it too. I just want to someday be a 2,000 and up.

Being 2000 is not easy lol some do make it seem easy but from my experience most don't 1600-1800 blitz chess is like a block I think 2100-2200 rapid (partly due to a small pool ) is also tough

At a certain point it doesn't always matter what time control you do (but it's different for everyone ) some improve and blitz at 800 ish but a lot get stuck a lot get stuck at 1600 rapid for years while others improve really fast at rapid but not blitz so try not to get too hung up on people who try to tell you which time control is best

Not everyone has the mental capacity to get to 2000. First, just aim a hundred points above your current rating. Then before you know it , you'll maybe be 2000! Also it will take much time. The average person takes about thirty years. I've taken 1y year to get 1637.

A 2000 rating does not require any exceptional degree of intelligence, no.

A 2000 rating does not require any exceptional degree of intelligence, no.IQ and chess have no correlation, but having a high IQ would probably help in more complex move sets....

What a 2000 rating requires is:

1) Mental toughness and bloody-minded stubborness. You have to lose THOUSANDS of games before you get really good. If you aren't stubborn, you'll get discouraged and quit.

2) A reasonably effective study plan.

3) Play. Study is only a third of the puzzle. Study => Play => Look over your games.

I only analyze or study 1/10 of my games or 2/10 lol usually for about a minute left but a study plan can definitely be helpful (i don't have one )

It's definitely helpful to have a consistent habit even if it isn't always studying (or raging /blaming bad chess skills on the opponent)

best way to get better at your level is too solve puzzles and play games as much as possible. Don't listen to these people that tell you to watch gotham chess videos because the amount you improve from solving puzzles and playing lots of games is tenfold compared to watching useless videos.

I watch gothamchess for fun always tiny bits of information if you look at it but it is differently different from playing in practice

Honestly just watching those twitch streams of high level chess can be pretty helpful if your thinking about the game they are playing it really depends tho

You will never improve overnight...take your time... don't rush... good luck 😉

Are you still studying? When is 2 months school break? During school break, if you study, play, analyze you can improve 200 points.
