So, I'm black and I moved the queen behind the king as you can see in the attached picture. The game ended there with a checkmate. I was wondering how that can be? Isn't the king able to make it's why out by taking the pawn infront of it? It doesn't seem like anything is protecting the pawn. Am I missing something?
I'm a bit confused as to how this is a checkmate?

Yeah. The only escape square for the king that the queen doesn’t cover is covered by the pawn. Nice unintentional mate! 😂
