Chess is a game to have a good time and take your mind off things.
If the Elo ranking becomes a pain, it is because it is not the right path.
Some are willing to cheat to post high scores.
This Elo race is not doing any good. Chess should not be limited to classification.
That professional players are subject to grading is comparable to other sports.
But for simple amateurs, chess must above all serve to learn and progress through improving our game.
Let's not be afraid to be happy on a chessboard.
And learn while having fun, the pleasure will be better.

i have to keep reminding myself of that. I feel lke ive gotten better since i was 1500 3 years ago it just seems so stupid to be stuck in the 1200s for so long everytime om about to go up 100 points i lose like 3 games in a row, thats the one thing about chess on here many of us will never have the right mindset
I recommend this book to all beginners to boost your ELO by 1000.
