Im stuck!
The difference between OTB and online chess is immense. I've looked through games submitted on the forum, where OTB the players are around 1200, and I'm thinking, "I can't find any mistakes. This is 1200 strength?"
Try not to ego. Don't tell yourself, "I am 1500 strength," or whatever you happen to be. Just go out, play your game as best as you can, and your rating will match your hard work. If you insist that you are 1500 (or whatever) strength, then you'll have some hardships.
I recently started playing rapid chess after a lifetime of playing correspondence. As my rating there is over 2000, I figured I would beat my first few opponents without effort. Instead, I lost three times to players under 1500. This forced me to shut up, stop thinking of myself as '2000 level' and just put in the work and play the board. It's not fun, and my ego took a hit, but it helped.
Arankaaa could you please specify what your rating?...
