improving

Played my 1000th rapid game today after a month of playing on chess.com back in last june I managed to get to 750 and now 9 months later i am just over 600 ! its a shocking display of chess ineptitude thats for sure !!!! But I enjoy playing thats the main thing even though I cant learn anything.
Great if you enjoy playing!
However, if you have played that many rapid games without much improvement, then why not try other things which may work better? How many of these 1000 games do you think you've analyzed with the computer? How many chess puzzles do you think you've attempted in that time (chess.com Daily Puzzle counts)? What other things have you been doing to work on your chess?
Obviously, chess improvement isn't the sole purpose of playing for many people; but if you invest so much time into chess, then why not also improve at it?
We could play some unrated live chess sometime if you like @bebbster888 - perhaps I could offer some advice more tailored to you than just the generalizations like "opening principles" or "don't hang pieces."

Thankyou very much for replying to me. Yes I do analyse each game and try to learn from them. I am amazed after analysing how many obvious mistakes I made and opportunities I missed. One of my biggest problems is keeping my concentration and my emotions in check when playing. If I blunder a piece I have a tendency to get disheartened with my game and lose concentration. But all the same I find chess a mesmerising game and can completely understand why is has maintained its popularity over the centuries. Again thankyou very much for replying to me.
