Improving at chess

I've been playing chess for quite a long time and obviously I have gradually gotten better over time. It is only recently that I've decided to actually aim to improve at my game at a faster pace. Any suggestions on the best and quickest ways to improve at chess and to be more aware of your opponents plans and opportunities? I'd like to hear from you.

buy chess books or watch educational videos
also learn atleast 2 openings for both black and white pieces
I only got this app recently, I used to just play chess with my friends IRL. I didnt realise there was lessoms
